Our specialist services
Specialist care for complex needs in Harlow, Essex
Sydenham House is a purpose-designed specialist care facility on Monkswick Road in Long Ley, Harlow. The service brings three specialist services together under one roof across 56 planned beds, so that people with complex needs can be supported in a single setting rather than moved between services as their needs change.
Our active neuro rehabilitation service provides goal-focused, multidisciplinary rehabilitation for adults following neurological injury or illness, including stroke, acquired brain injury, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, prolonged disorders of consciousness and polytraumatic injuries. Rehabilitation is delivered by specialist neuro physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, neuro dietitians and specialist neuro nurses, with clear goals and measurable outcomes.
Our complex nursing and physical health service supports people who need a higher level of clinical oversight, rehabilitation support and coordinated multidisciplinary care. Our elderly care needs service focuses on person-centred support, meaningful engagement, mobility, function, wellbeing and the management of complex needs, delivered by a specialist team.
Sydenham House is registered with the Care Quality Commission and is led by our Director and Registered Manager, Jennifer Esmas. We work alongside Neuro Navigation Services, Integrated Care Boards, NHS Trusts, community and rehabilitation teams and social care colleagues to support safe, timely and coordinated transitions of care. Referrals are welcome from health and social care professionals, and we are happy to arrange a visit or an assessment at a time that suits your team.
